Manor Marussia F1 Team

Manor has a strong heritage in motor racing – formed in 1990 by John Booth, the team initially competed in Formula Renault. They recorded championship wins in the 1991, 1994-1995 and 1997-2000 seasons. When the team switched to Formula 3 in 1999, they won the championship at the first attempt. Manor Racing was guided by a set of key principles, which involved focusing on performance, doing more with less and providing a launch pad for young drivers - including former World champion, Kimi Räikkönen, and current FORMULA 1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton.

In 2009, the FIA opened the FORMULA 1 door to four new contenders, and Manor secured entry to the highest echelon of motor sport for the start of the 2010 season. In Bahrain, with a brand new team and two rookie drivers, they lined up on the Formula 1 grid for the first time. They set out to demonstrate that with the same passion and determination as some of the more established players, but with a fraction of the spend, the team could succeed in this highly competitive arena.

In February 2015, after a very uncertain time for the team, and after significant support from new backers, Manor emerged from administration and is now participating in the 2015 FIA FORMULA 1 World Championship, with John Booth and Graeme Lowdon continuing to lead the team.
